Journal entry :3
Today is 18th of October this
is my 3rd post in my theatre journal and this has been posted after one-month
form my 2nd blog post. In
these one-month of theatre we have done and learnt a lot of new things. I think as a class we are more comfortable and
confident than before. We have come to know each other properly and also have a
good connection with each other.
I have
enjoyed all the theatre classes so far this month. We have learnt about a
director, what is their importance, what are their responsibilities. We had a
good discussion on it and everyone shared great ideas. Sharing ideas is a good
way of learning as we will not only share our ideas but also gain others too.
Then we were assigned to make our own directors notebook. Miss rose had
explained us how to do it very properly and she too gave us time to do it
during class as we could ask her questions if we had any difficulties. I
enjoyed doing it, as it required a lot of creative ideas. I spent a lot of time
doing and tried to do it my best. I did not receive such good grades for this
assignment but I have surely learnt my mistakes and will try not to repeat it
again. I have tried to make my director’s notebook better as we got a chance to
do a second draft, find our mistakes and correct them. As being a theater
student the director’s notebook is very important for us it is a big part of
our theater assessments as we be will be doing it next year as well. I did not like the fact that we were first
batch who had to do the directors notebook.
The theater students got another chance to watch a play but
some of them as well as me did not get to watch it as we had our sports
practice. I really enjoy different kinds of theater exercises we do in class,
looking at my friends do funny and weird actions makes me laugh a lot but I
find these exercises a very useful way for all of us to connect as a class and
build a strong relationship with each and everyone. My theater classmates have
also put up play on Antigone. In which many other theater students including me
were not present, as we had gone Delhi for the IB tournament. I had asked Kim how the play had gone and she
had told me that it went pretty good, I was really happy to hear that.
In our puja
holiday we were give an assignment to research about a theater company and I
had got the “lone twin” theater. I really like everything about their company
as it had been established for a purpose to connect all the lone twins in the
world. After doing a lot of research on them I learnt their style of presenting
the play, what they mainly focus on and their motives. By doing this research I
think I have a better understanding of theater and how theater companies work
as before I had no idea about these things. The lone twin theatre is a very famous theater company who goes on world tours performing their plays. All the plays they perform are musical.
I would like
to thank miss rose for being such a good teacher and helping us with our
problems for this course. Hope that this two year of theater classes that
everyone will obedient and will always be focused in all the classes. All the
classes have been great so far and I hope that it will continue through out the
year.
